I love reading stuff on wikipedia about films, then watching them on youtube then asking a bit about it here etc. I just love finding stuff out like that. Is this normal?
Oh, I was expecting the description to be different.:S Um, yeah, I'm sure it's normal. Learning something new makes me very happy (usually, anyway), and I think loads of people are like that. It's very normal, in my opinion. As for what you're doing, I think loads of people do that too. I've never really seen that as finding knowledge.:S Huh. Films are great:D
Thirty seconds ago, I was doing exactly this. Although I was using IMDb. If you haven't stumbled across it, it's worth a look. I use it on a virtually daily basis. Some of the advanced search options are really useful (and aren't replicated by Wikipedia or anything else that I know of, really). For instance, one of my favourite films is The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (which starred Jimmy Stewart, probably my favourite actor after de Niro, and John Wayne). If I wanted to know if they starred together in any other films, IMDb would tell me. How The West Was Won, and The Shootist (which I'd forgotten Jimmy Stewart was in, for some reason).
Plus there are message boards, FAQs, reviews, synopses, quotes, mistakes, connections to other films (i.e. references), trivia, inside info, and all the details you could ever want. I love films and I love IMDb almost as much. I can happily potter around the site for a few hours and I learn all kinds of stuff. Plus the site attracts so many visitors that even the obscure films I like have a decent amount of discussion.
Hahahha, of course it's normal! I would love to learn about stuff, but I don't know why I don't get up to do it. Keep it up my friend.
This is an excellent way to learn about many things.
I often do this myself, but not exclusively with films, usually many other things that interest me.
