Is it normal i love my dog more now that he had an operation ?

my dog whom ive had for 3 years had his eye taken out last week, at first i was upset and thought that i didnt want him but since then i have found i care more for him and like him more as a dog with his imperfection.......though is it normal ?

    I think that's why i feel my dog is great because she came from a shelter...she has a story. Going through something like that with your dog brings you closer to him/her...as crazy as that sounds.

    Yes it's totally normal and really sweet. 9 years ago I adopted a cat from a shelter who had a metal plate put in his leg and he limped everywhere. I probably loved him more than any other pet I've ever owned.
