When I have some free time, I find myself spending hours on IIN. From reading the stories, to commenting, to the chat; I'm obsessed! I also love all the people on this site. They're like a family to me. IS THIS NORMAL?
It's normal to go through the phase where you absolutely love the site. Then it begins to bore you and then you take a break. Then you come back and you are less active than before.
I like this website also and I used to spend hours on it everyday. It would be better if it updated polls and stories a little faster though :P
I think it's a lot like the addiction to the daytime TV shows that show people at their worst. Every one, from judge Judy to the Maury Povich show, Oprah and Montel all show people at their worst and this site is really no different.
Honestly, if someone really needs help, do you think the opinions expressed by some of the idiots on here (like me, according to some posters on here), even if well meant, should be a basis of whether someone's condition is serious or that the advice will really change anything?
We all come on here to make ourselves feel better because we can see that there are people much worse off than we are.
You're not an idiot, not at all. You are a mature guy who has experienced a lot and it's difficult for the teenagers here to understand your opinions. I like the fact that there is a mature guy on here.

I believe that it is hard for many people to accept the truth today. Unfortunately, I just wasn't born with the bullshit gene. I've been called insensitive and crass, but I can only see myself as a straight shooter, a socially inept one, but that's as it may be.
Probably why I chose a career where I was the undisputed boss and didn't have to take shit from anyone.
I'm surprised I am the only one that voted normal so far. I've said this in a previous post but, IIN is my happy place that I go to throughout the day to make me feel better. I love this website. So I think it's normal.
Yeah i can see that. But for me it's just a way to help pass the time at work.
