Is it normal i'm annoyed the author of harry potter isn't allowed to

Attend her own 20th anniversary for Harry Potter just because she believes only women can get pregnant and that children should not be given puberty blockers to become trans?

The trans and non binary community hate her even though she has openly said she doesn't care what someone does but she believes only women can get pregnant and have periods and that she supports trans people but she is against puberty blockers in children to make them trans before they even know who they are. I don't understand it. She donated over half her money to charities of all kinds and she has common sense. Why is she not allowed to go because of this? She's one of the nicest people out there. The main cast are going and they said they never want to speak to her again and give her the silent treatment.

I accidentally hit "Not Normal". I think it's normal that you're irked over the stupidity. Consider the wealth & publicity the cast of the movie franchise have garnered from her work seems mighty ungrateful.

Yeah people are insane nowadays. She's allowed to feel however she wants and I agree with her opinions personally.

It's basically plagiarism. SHE'S THE FUCKING CREATOR of Harry Potter.

Giving children puberty blockers (for gender dysphoria) is just as bad as raping them. If I was king of the world if you were caught giving a child puberty blockers you would be sentenced to death on the spot

  • Sex and gender are the same thing.

I think they're two sides of the same coin. I think sex is biological, and gender is about identity.

      • Medicate transgenders/transtrenders through antipsychotics, not through sex reassignment surgeries.

These meds are terrible I can tell ya. I was treated with some once for psychosis and the side effects are still there, even though I don't swallow these bloody crap pills any more.

Even though I am against 5-8 year olds taking blockers without a thorough examination, that is not a solution either.

Psychoses and the like can be recognised by a professional. Let them do the examinations first, before just taking medicines indiscriminately.

          • The name "anti-psychotic" is just a label. These meds have other effects besides quelling the psychosis(hearing voices in head) and paranoia(people are conspiring against me and want to harm me). Anti-psychotics also dull the intensity of intense thoughts. The transgenderism/transtrenderism is not a psychosis, but a delusion. The antipsychotics can help by attenuating these rigid thoughts patterns. It is also well known that antipsychotics have severe side effects, but these beat sex/gender ressignment surgery side effects any day.

I guess it depends on the drug, but if you get cramps for life or start actin like a mental retard because of it, that would be suboptimal as well.

Besides, in the country I currently live in you can theoretically get antipsychotics at an age of 8 and above while blockers will only be given to 16+ year olds.
So if the first treatment would be with antipsychotics startin from early on if this would be believed to be a delusion there is a high chance of long term health issues to the brain and to other organs.
Doesnt sound quite beneficial to me tbh if you want a healthy stable person that later on pays their bills and taxes n shit.

All the operations are only permitted from the age of 18 and over here. This means that people have enough time to think things over, have their MRTs and blood counts to rule out some diseases and go to therapy beforehand.

You can't just beat delusions with pills. Also I've never experienced that these do dull the intensity of intense thoughts. They just made me a dumb fuck.
I could hardly remember anythin, I couldn't concentrate, I was constantly tired and very easily exhausted, I couldnt think at all because of these. That was it. It didn't do more than that and inhibit hallucinations. However, the delusions were eventually improved by a reduction in stress and therapy.

I dunno, cause I'm not a professional, but I do want to say that I certainly have a hard time empathizing with people who hate on Big Papa Jordan Peterson! I have so much love, and respect for that man, and would have loved to have had a psychology professor like him in my youth!

they're all crazy and woke. She did nothing wrong, and she's not wrong. I think the trans/NB community is nuts for thinking she's transphobic. She's not. But it really is ridiculous the entire cast doesn't support her.

These actions and accusations are hateful in nature. The very thing they imply the 'phobic' person is doing.
But hey, we lived in a world where witches were burned at the stake, scientists were persecuted, silenced or worse for speaking the truth...

Giving puberty blockers to 'children' is wrong. If this was a disease, or an illness, where experiencing puberty was a problem, then fine, go ahead. No different than someone blocking histamines for allergies, or beta-blockers for a heart condition, or so on.
EXCEPT YEAH, PUBERTY ISN'T AN ILLNESS. Yet that's how they're treating this. It's actually INHUMANE to do this to children - to deny them their human and automatic right to experience this aspect of life and what it will mean for them. AND if they grow up and end up trans? SO WHAT? Do you really think it's the puberty that did it? To stop sexual genitalia from forming or whatever-the-heck those blockers do? That's almost as bad as late term abortion.
And where are the parents in this decision making process?
And where is the PRECEDENT for this happening in history, ever?
Maybe in some bizarre aborigine culture where they mutilate their genitalia, who fucking knows. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. And it pisses me off.
It's no wonder I have so much dislike for people nowadays. The world and it's people are just getting shallower, more superficial, judgmental, for-themselves.

I doubt she has a clue about the LGBT+ community, especially the trans issue. She admitted herself that she was a failure in sports and science subjects. She studied French, not chemistry, biology or psychology. So all she knows about biology is what her school at the time gave her. The fact that there is now new evidence about the origins of trans identity has apparently escaped her completely. If such a person speaks negatively about such a sensitive topic in certain areas, it is quite clear that there will be trouble.

I don't have the greatest idea about the subject, accordingly I'm simply saying that people should be better examined instead of being put on some kind of medication directly on suspicion. I am not undermining anyone and I am not outright trying to silence people with money.

Opinions are fine, but one should always be sure in which environment one can express them. I don't like French people, to put it delicately. If I say that in France, I easily could get into trouble. Especially because French people dislike me just as much.

Normal. I'm non binary and even though I don't like her opinions I think it's weird they are leaving her out. She's the creator of the whole franchise and I love Harry Potter to remove her from being at her own anniversary event is low of them. Emma Watson and Daniel Radcliffe seem like narcissists anyways. They don't care about how they got where they are today they just want the attention. Daniel Radcliffe stripped nude for how many movies and shows now and how he talks about himself the man is low same goes for Emma. They have no kindness anymore towards anyone but themselves it's all fake. I'm no saint but I don't think I'm as low as these people leaving out JK Rowling just because she has different opinions.

I clicked not normal for her not being able to attend her own anniversary.

Honestly what irks me the most about JK and her comments on the trans community is her ignorance. She says things that completely undermine transgender people because she believes that she as a woman has the right to be empowered and those who are transitioned or transitioning are taking away from her empowerment somehow. If you've read her 'piece' entitled TERF Wars, you'll understand exactly why she's not allowed at that event. She has no idea what she's talking about and purposefully spreads hate on a sensitive topic because of her platform. To me, it's disgusting and I refuse to respect her views until she becomes better informed or makes an official apology.

    • Ive never read TERF wars but followed her on Twitter for years must've seen every tweet she's only said she supports trans people just not into allowing children to start puberty blockers, a lot of her emphasis on trans was about children not adults.

Also being anti trans is normal and totally acceptable as it's an opinion. She believes in science so do I lol. She never said anything hateful and even donated money to a trans community. If you spray a dog with spots to look like a cheetah it's still a dog no different than trying to look like the opposite gender. That surgery as well as puberty blockers for children is outlawed in many countries and should be outlawed everywhere, it's barbaric and ridiculous.

I don't keep track of what she said or did not say. Just don't see any value in her novels. Or her opinion for that matter.

Puberty blockers should not be given to kids. Let them experience puberty, and then decide if they want to transition or not, when they are fully grown adults.

Now I'm not a fan of the idea that there are children who get mutilated on their own will either, but honestly, what grounds does she have other than thought-terminating cliché?

There is more and more research on the subject that suggests that it is not a disease similar to psychosis, but something like when you connect a digger to a snow shovel, but the digger needs a shovel. Genetic changes of consciousness in the brain or something. You have a blueprint of your body in your head. If it's corrupted, you'll know it.

You can't just pigeonhole people. "Men are men, women are women, basic biology bullshit and all.
People can't be unicorns, but they can have some conditions about their health that we either don't quite accept or that aren't even known yet.

Yes. Her Harry Potter books are also quite a bit racist and sexist, and in parts just unpleasant to read.

I find it funny how Harry Potter fans can look past that fact. It was super obvious to me a long time ago that there was something off about that woman. She writes a book demonizing kids... kids! All of Slytherin house are portrayed to be hopeless monsters. Kids get sorted into that house at age 11. That is simply not right. And the way she portrays bullies is laughably inaccurate. It is clear from her books that her views on life are very outdated and belong in the mid-20th century, inside some closed-off bigoted British community that is not accepting of other people's views. I doubt she did any research before writing. The magic system in her world makes no logical sense and her use of Latin is ridiculous.
