Is it normal i'm disappointed the mayans were wrong?

I for one was looking forward to the Mayan apocalypse. I was sorely disappointed that come Dec 22 the world was still the same:(. I was looking forward to the adventure of trying to be a survivor and a new world order. And I never got to use any of the supplies and gear I've been collecting.

Thoughts?

Do you do that on December 31st too? That's when our calendar "ends" as well.

You would have died, though. If you're so desperate for an adventure, there are other ways of going about it, which don't involve the world ending.:P

That's because, millions of miles a way, the Doctor saved us, with an elaborate but very complicated sceme, involving: A sonic screwdriver, a fez, a jammie-dodger, two cups of tea and a rabbit named Gordon.

I think some people have a romanticized view of living through some apocalypse. The reality would be hell on earth.

Be grateful that you can go to the store and buy your groceries every week and not have to grow them yourself or kill animals for your meat.

While our civilization has major problems, it's still far better than most.

If we have a zombie apocalypse, we'll never have Internet again, or TV, or Skittles, or NFL games, millions of men might have to become co-husbands or stay celibate, and millions of children will be eaten alive.

The Mayans never said there was going to be an apocalypse.

Where did you get your information about this from? I mean, given that this is potentially a life or death scenario, what research did you do and what did you find out?

It was not the Mayans who were incorrect, it was you.
The Mayans knew absolutely nothing about obscure religious concepts in the OLD WORLD when they devised their calendric system.
In fact, they did not even know that the OLD WORLD existed, at the time.

maybe you just lack excitement in your life , as that's what it sounds like .. ? Funny thing is .. A heap of mayans offed themselves not too long ago as they thought the world was going to end going by their calendar .. Lol , they should have adopted a modern one .. They went all "waco" for nothing

I expected it not to happen..it would've been cool if I had no family and loved ones then it happened..cause I'd have no-one to worry about..but then I'm glad it didn't happen, think about the people you know and love..

The Dec 22 is the winter solstice. I'd say dont be so haste they wer he e "wrong". just wrong in the literal view we took it in our day. just like in the bible, it wasnt literally 7 days he took to create the world. the bible has been translated and is from ancient times so u might just take it as a metaphor. however, over millions of years of evolution the sun, earth. Etc was formed.

If you are at all famiiar with the
Mayans' history you will see how astounding it was, which is why it was ever taken seriously

Id say, we ARE in a difficult era. keep an open mind. the beginnig of winter could be the beginning of the end of our civilization as ae know it.
