Is it normal i'm half roman catholic and half atheist?

Is It Normal That I'm Part Roman Catholic, Part Atheist? Like i'm usually a Roman Catholic....but i don't believe everything the bible says. Like God hating gays and such, he created us so some of us will be gay/lesbian/bi and other stuff. Lots of times i wonder if there is a God. So it's like i'm Half Atheist, Half Catholic, is...is this normal? Please help

    Listen,

I've been studying Catholicism for 10+ years now and i'm only beginning to understand. Please just keep trying to learn about the religion and I promise you, you will want to practice it. It's all SO COMPLEX and everything fits together and it's incredible! Please, I'm begging you, keep learning! Take a course on the Old Testament taught by a Roman Catholic teacher and boy if they're a good teacher it will be so incredibly enlightening. That's what I'm doing now and I finally understand the whole eating the Body and Blood of Christ and how everything fits and why God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac but then stopped him. I mean I used to be so unsure about my religion but it's incredible now that I understand. I'm so blessed to be able to go to a school like I do where they teach me stuff like this. Please, please keep learning about it.

You sound like someone who says they believe in something, but only if they can pick and choose the parts they like. You are a typical christian. Normal.

Nothing wrong with attending church services if you are an atheist. It's sort of a social club for shallow people.

it is normal to question your religion, but i think lgbtq peeps need to manage their impulses and carry their cross. God doesent hate anybody :)

The journey towards atheism is about questioning everything to do with your beliefs, just as you are doing :)

It is about learning as much as you can and deciding on what you have learned and may still learn in the future.

Atheism is not a bad word it just starts with questioning the traditions and myths you were taught when young.

There are many atheist sites online that can discuss with you further about questioning and learning. These sites will never scare you, or try to change you, they will enlighten you (even spiritually) and then go and check for yourself everywhere else.

In my own personal viewpoint (just to provide the 'feeling' once, if ever, you become atheist) You feel like your eyes have opened to the universe for the first time, it can be a spiritual uplifting :)

While it may sound contradictory, it is possible to be an Atheist and another faith. I'll give you some examples: Atheist-Buddhist, Atheist-Agnostic, Atheist-Jew, etc.

Basically, you keep the practices of the other faith but, you don't believe in God and quite possibly, any of the other beings of importance in Christianity. The latter part being the Atheism.

Hmm... Perhaps the term would be agnostic?

That's not part atheist, you can't really be part atheist, you either have spiritual belief or not if not you're an atheist, of course you can be agnostic if you're not sure but it sounds like you are just Christian, the bible is contradictory, if every single Christian believed every part of the bible they'd be confused and conflicted, many, many, christians agree with some things in the bible and don't agree with other things, enjoy the fact that you have a mind of your own to choose what you think is right , embrace it and be comfortable in what you believe

A bit like being half circumcised. You have to go one way or the other.
