Is it normal: i'm obsessed with stuffed animals?

Im a 22 year old male with very few friends, and little social life. I always slept with stuffed animals for as long as I can remember. I have a pretty large collection of Pokemon and Disney characters of all sizes decorated around my room. I have a stuffed Pikachu that I've had by my side for 13 years. He's my favorite and I'd be devastated if i ever lost him...I always kiss him goodnight and talk to him before we fall asleep; hoping he'll listen to me.. I feel like he's my best friend and I've lost touch with trying to find friendship with others, and I can relate more to them than people. I don't want to give him up but how do I move forward?

    Hey old man, 56% of us say you are OK, I sleep with my stuffed animals, and I'm 50. Have been for many years. Your would not believe how many people go on trips and take stuffed animals with them, yes adults, and going on business trips take stuffed animals with them to sleep with. Airport screeners got to love it, to see the stuffed animal in the suitcase of these people all dressed up. LOL.. I do it myself, so no problem.

    It's totally normal. I think it's healthy to hold on to a bit of your childhood. Hell, I still have quite a few that I sleep with still.

      The only sick bastard is people like you... Taking someone's liking to a particular thing that doesn't meet your guidelines as an offense makes you a sick person. As long as they are not inducing harm to one or another, doesn't give you the right to dictate their lives. Your name is oddly appropriate, it's a memory that should stay forgotten...

    I have one stuffed animal for about 14 years I'm 15 years old I can't sleep without it and I never think of getting rid from it so it's totally normal and stuffed animals are better than real people they can never harm you.

    No its not normal but in your case it's understandable. You have nobody to talk to so you have a bunch of stuffed animals to keep you from going insane from loneliness.

      Perhaps but I have no interest in men whatsoever, but I have never been in a formal relationship with anyone. Bear in mind that I only display this obsession of mine in private. I try to hide it from others.

          Uh no. I think you may be I interpreting this in the wrong way. Ive never been in a relationship of any kind because I haven't found the right one. But I long to find the one person in my life that will make me happy. I feel like my stuffed animals provide me comfort and help me cope with this void in my life, and they have for a very long time. It's nothing sexual or a question of my sexual peferences. I just wonder if this coping mechanism of mine is ok; even after all these years.

            Alright, well let me try to answer this. No...no its not okay, not at all is it okay.

            Stuffed animals provide comfort for children, and grown women perhaps can get away with thinking they are "cute".

            Under no circumstances does a man have anything to do with them. And by man, I mean boys over 14, even though they are just boys still.
