Is it normal i'm offended by adele saying she's proud to be a woman

Adele recently said she's "proud to be a woman" and if you're aware the view of her statement is split half of us find it offensive and dismissive of non binary/transgender people and the people who are anti non binary/anti trans or don't care don't find it offensive.

As a genderfluid person I do find it offensive, it's a rub in the face and sounds transphobic to me basically it's saying "I'm a real women you're not" and throwing shade at us.

Anyway some people are saying we are in the wrong and I'm wondering what you think. Is it normal to be offended?

        Maybe that's just your interpretation.
I, being male, can just as easily complain that it is offensive and dismissive of men. Therefore she is malephobic and we live in a malephobic world since people have applauded her while others only viewed it as transphobic not recognizing the pain felt by myself or other males.

        See how that works?

I'm trans and I litterly could not give a flying fuck that someone's proud of their sex. I couldn't care if they are proud of their race or their bank account or anything. Has absolutely nothing to do with me. Try being happy instead of looking for a problem in every little thing.

Try to be a more likable person and you wont have problems. If everytime you meet a trans person theyre dramatic and complaining alot you are gonna attribute those qualities to trans ppl. If everytime I met a trans person I walked away thinking they were very pleasant Id be like ok yeah theyre cool. But getting upset about someone saying their a proud woman makes ppl hate you.

Women in those movements dont want equality they want superiority. When a woman strikes a man first and so he strikes her back they hate him. They jump in on it other men target that man.

In an equal world they would back the man up.

When women cheat they are empowered when men cheat they are scum. In an equal world both are scum.

When a man tucks something in his pants to look bigger he's a pig. Yet it's entirely normal and encouraged for women to wear makeup, get cosmetic surgery, wear shape wear. Do makeup contouring and use filters on their cameras to improve their appearance.

In an equal world both would be treated like pigs. Because lying is a disgusting act.

In many factory jobs you need to be able to lift 50lbs unaided. If a man can't do it he doesn't get the job. If s woman can't she still gets the job. Wana know how I know? 90% of the women in my factory cry for help the second somrthing is over 10lbs. In an equal world she never would get hired for those jobs.

Frankly I could go on. There's the legal systems, childcare systems, social standing wage and so on. So many wonderful examples I could probably go on all day on exactly why you are wrong.

Back when feminism started it was about equality but now days it's about superiority

Why I agree that feminism is now about superiority I argue that it's still a prudent point that women only areas should remain woman only areas.

Define a woman. A woman is a biological female.

Not saying there shouldnt be a 3rd stall. Just saying that trans people do not get to encroach on areas where they do not belong.

(Speaking as someone that supports transgendered individuals.)

This isn't the way to be accepted by the general public. If you really and truly were upset by her words, I would suggest seeking therapy. It's not healthy to be offended by such a minor thing, even if you are trans.

Saying you’re proud to be something isn’t a statement on anything other than the thing mentioned.

The only offensive part about this is the non binary/transgender people who think they somehow need to be included in a persons statement that never related to them in the first place. The statement isn’t about them, it’s about her and womanhood, nothing else is relevant.

It's not a trans thing. It's an attention thing. Trans people don't give a shit about that. Only the people who seek attention do. Its like back in school people who had easy lives would cut their wrists. They aren't doing it for results if they were they'd go along the vein. They are doing it for attention. While unfortunately some trans people are like that it is not an accurate representation of my community. The vast majority of us just want to live our lives in peace without extra attention.

More trans people should be against the political stances of those who say support them. Kaitlin Jenner liked trump yet was crucified by her own "community" since when did having a shared affliction automatically puts you into a political stance?

I'm going to put things in a different perspective.

If you are a non binary or genderfluid person, are you proud of that fact? If you are proud, should you be allowed to say you are a proud non binary person without offending everybody who is not.

If you said you were proud, and everybody who got offended spoke out, what names of hate would you call them? Well point your finger at yourself.

Everybody is allowed and should be proud of who they are. Men are not offended because someone is a proud woman, Women aren't offended because someone is a proud man. I'm not offended if someone is a proud non binary, wtf gives you the right to be offended if someone is proud to be who they are.

Is it because they are different than you? Congratulations you made the full circle. You are now what you claimed everybody else to be. A hater because somebody is different.
Maybe if you are offended by Adele's statement you are truly not non binary, maybe you truely feel like a woman down deep and you take this personal. You like Adele, she is a female, and she is supposed to feel like you.

You are worse than the normal male and female. Those that can't understand and accept people who are different. You are part of that different group. It's like being black and discriminating against other minorities. You know what it is like, so why?

As for genetics? YES its relevant you are born either as a male or a female. Barring any mutations from the standards. Because I come from said mutations!

I have klienfelters! My chromosomes are XXY what am I? A male. My genetics say I'm a male dispite what a few cells in my pecks think. And the fact I'm sterile.

It's people like that that forces people like me to have to have an opposition to transgender politics.

Theres no such thing as being born without a sex. You are born as a male or female. What mutations that come with that only modify what kind of male or female you are, it doesnt create anything new.

The intersex community was cooped by the transgender community and it's so infuriating to get every 3rd person who goes on a talk show or podcast to bring up how klinefelters is somehow a loophole in conventional logic.

    Woman means adult human being.
You are being offended by the truth of her statement. And this thing about gender is just like fashion and soon this craziness will end. I was all about trans right until you began to redefine woman and claiming the word as if it belonged to your community, when you began to claim that words like mother etc are offensive.
Please, get a life and face reality. One doesn't become a woman (or a man), you're born this way and no amount of surgery can change that.
You need psychological help and not surgeries.

Same here. I was all for the gender dysphoric trans who were suffering and willing to got through medical transistion AS ADULTS. Now it's all recruiting children to their cult & erasing women, and denying biology. We're now at the point where the word woman is seen as hate speech.

Well, the backlash is coming. The lawsuits for mutilating girls' bodies won't be far behind.

If only there were some way to convert the outrage of those with hair-triggers on their social justice rayguns into something useful, like electricity or fuel for cars.

If that were possible, global production of CO2 would tumble every time some celebrity casually expressed a honest sentiment in ten words when they would have needed a formal statement of two hundred words to deliver a carefully nuanced message that expressed sympathy for and solidarity with every single minority, no matter how tiny.

Well trannies arent real woman. Seethe.

It's insane that it's offensive to say you're proud to be a woman nowadays. Men are so threatened by women they need to start invading our spaces in the disguise of women now to hold some power and make sure we're not too confident about being women. It's no news that trannies hate us, they are men after all. If they weren't they wouldn't even constantly talk about and announce the fact that they're trannies. It's just hardcore crossdressing.

Yes, you are not normal and your statement is bigoted, misogynist and hateful.

Trans rights activists seem to be men's rights activists. Not only are they forcing words & language related to women, women's bodies and reproductive functions that only women have to be changed, erased and censored, to me it looks like they hate women & want them gone altogether.

They want access to women's sports, women's awards ceremonies, women's prisons, Lesbian's spaces (and bodies), women's public toilets, women's changerooms, they want to take women's places on committees, boards, in NGOs, domestic violence shelters.

No matter how they 'pass' they are NOT & never will be women. They do not have a woman's lived experience from childhood, through female puberty and adulthood. So why are they taking women's places & spaces?

It comes down to wanting MORE rights than either men or women currently have: access to single-sex spaces that were created for the purpose of safeguarding women & girls.

This is why you people are hated and mocked... Cause you need to play the victim card for absolutely everything, even for things that do not concern you.

Why do you care about what Adele thinks, is or isn't proud of... How exactly does she affect your life?

This is a bit like me saying: "I'm proud I got a degree in economics! Took me 4 years, but I did it!"
And then some random nobody comes and says "That's offensive to people that didn't obtain higher education!"

You do you and let others fend for themselves. Be proud of the things you are and/ or have achieved.

Haven't watched the conflict but just makes me think people have just gotten too emotional nowadays. Its most likely not meant to put down anyone else, she is just happy with who she is. People have the right to be proud of whatever they want (unless its in itself a really bad thing). Anything someone could possibly be proud of is going to offend someone who doesn't have that trait anyway. Just think that people live for themself

This seems like a question better suited for an audience of other genderfluid people. For most people who aren't genderfluid this sounds pretty abnormal, but maybe for people in your community it's a really common feeling. I just don't think you're going to get a very reliable answer by asking people who aren't part of that demographic
