I'm the exact same way but for me it's acamedic stuff, i study for hours every single day getting less than 75% is not acceptable graduating next year nothing will get in my way of becoming this corporate chick though i worry 99.99% of the time that i'll be unsuccessful hence the perfectionism. you're not alone
Just remember, "you miss 100% of the shots you dont take".-Micheal Jordan

DUDE ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME SDFUHSIFJSIFH!!?
If you are fit and well trained enough to consider attempting the Olympics, what the fuck...DO IT. I'm assuming you have trainers and dietitians and all the other shit already.
Olympians are Olympians for good reason. They have to force themselves to overcome the mental crutches.
I think you can do it, if you GO HARD.
We all have our dreams, but in the end, when they turn to shit, its pretty depressing.....
Not the most optimistic post of the day but probably the most true.
I was literally just sitting here thinking about the same thing! I have a job offer that is a huge risk, but the rewards if it turns out right are absolutely huge! I have decided to got for it full on, and if I fail at least I wont have to wonder! I feel like this is the best way to live life!
Basically what i'm saying is, someday i'll see you in the olympics and say, "hey! I talked to that kid on IIN once!!"
In my opinion, the best advice I can give about this it try not to mirror your accomplishments to other people. And even if you wouldn't be allowed to join the olympics, would it ruin your life? No, because you can keep trying. And as long as you keep working on yourself, you'll become someone special.
Just don't take 'you can be anything you want' literally. I think you can only be anything you work for. Wanting isn't enough.
It's normal to be fearful of that. You'll never know what you could've accomplished unless you give it your best though. :)
