I do not know why I do this but I always do. When a animal sneezes I say bless you. Yes maybe he/she can not understand me but I have a compulsion to do so. I also say bless you to any person who sneezes. I know most people do not say bless you to animals. I just can not stop myself from saying it. This is not a joke post either. It is legitamate.
Aww, it's not something I do, but I might do from now on. I'm sharing my house with a huge fuzzy ball of dogginess for the next couple of days and I'm actually willing her to sneeze now.
Ha! I tried teaching my dog how to sneeze on command a few times but didn't have the motivation to stick with it, so I've just spent the last hour training her and SUCCESS!! I can't believe it! :D She may have gained 5lb in the process but I think it was worth it. (She definitely didn't mind being gorged with snacks.) ^^
A lot of dogs sneeze when they're angry so if you're saying 'bless you' to an angry dog, then that's not normal.
I also had a bird that would sneeze when he was really angry.
The only pet I've ever seen sneeze like humans have been cats... but I've also seen them sneeze in annoyance. If you were saying 'bless you' to an animal that was genuinely sneezing and not just really angry, then I guess that would be normal.
Force of habit. Just as long as your cat doesn't respond with thank you, it's quite normal.
Ditto when my cat sneezes I say bless you too. She's my cat I love her fluffy self so yes I'm going to be respectful even if she's an animal shes still a being. I have plenty of family and friends and associates who do this also... :)
