Is it normal i stay in my room 99% of the time?

Well i really dont like leaving my room so i just sit in there all day and watch the time go by since there is nothing better to do. I have a brother and parents that love me at home but i just feel bad and like nobody likes me. I could leave and watch tv but i would rather just sit in my room. Sometimes i cry because i feel im worthless. Im not too good with the guys, im usually too embarrassed to even talk to the ones i like. So is it normal to just sit in my room all day and never talk to anyone?

I do understand the origins of your discomfort with the public, but I advise you to really find a hobby of sorts so that you may make the most of your confinement. I myself enjoy the practice of art-making and find that it really lets out my frustrations. Maybe you would enjoy writing? Maybe you're the type who takes pride in reading? If so, you could always hang out at a library. It's like a way to go out without having to deal with others. And who knows, perhaps someone would one day notice you sitting indulged in a book that matches their own interest, and you could meet a new friend. Just try to do what you like and you will most certainly become a happier human being.

I think you should actually find a professional counselor as it appears you struggle with depression. It's a serious medical issue and you should be out enjoying life!

It's pretty much what I do all day. My family has told me it's not normal, but I don't really care.

You should get out and do something productive and around people. Even when I am bored I try to spend time at my local coffee shops rather than stay at home.

Consider getting a part-time job that exposes you to people. You'll make some extra money and get some experience in talking to others.

It's more common than you think so I consider it normal, because I am like that as well. I'm aware it's not healthy at all, but ask me if I care.

Sounds to me you have no self confidence. Start going out your room, watch tv, walk down the road and back, talk to your family. If you stay in your room you will just get more and more depressed.
