Is it normal i think i was born in the wrong generation

I sometimes just feel like I don't relate with any of the topics today(music, politics... Ect.)
I know I can't go back on time but what to do what to do

Could you live without the internet? A less tolerant society and less knowlege?
I'm not saying you couldn't, but think about it.

I am glad I was born into this generation. I have a work ethic, I was raised to RESPECT my elders, I like listening to GOOD music, I value education and I am getting one while working a full-time job and all of those Gen Y, useless, doped up, undisciplined, spoiled hipster assholes are making Gen Yers like me look hella good!

In the world of Business, they have a saying: It's not all about how good YOU are, it's about how bad the competition is! I look like a Golden Child compared to these self-entitled punks. If I was born sooner, I'd have been mundane, just your usual 21 year old. But I am a 21 year old in 2013, and I have qualities that are becoming increasingly rare.

Rejoice, the minority of decent, hard-working individuals in Gen Y, for in this case, being the minority is actually an awesome thing.

People who say this often neglect to consider everything else that comes with the fashion, music and movies of certain generations. All the horrible, shitty things unique to the past magically disappear when decades are viewed through rose-tinted spectacles.

I'm very happy to be here and now rather than there and then.

You can't go back in time but you can listen to and watch things of yesteryear.

  • Silly people always think this without realising how much they'd hate just as many aspects of any time period they were in.

Exactly. It's tedious hearing people regurgitate these ill-considered dreams ooover and ooover :/

I'm so tired of hearing things like this, 90s nostalgia, 80s nostalgia. It's fun to remember back on, but everyone who seems to think life was better for everybody is wrong.

You're not the only one. I love music, TV shows, fashion, and culture from the 60's-70's. You're right that we can't go back in time, but we can always enjoy our favorite vintage music and TV shows.

I feel the same way. I'm generation y but I have such an affinity with the baby boomers and their culture that people of that age tell me I was born too late. I get sad when I think of them all getting old senile and eventually perishing :(

It's normal to think like that, but it's easier to see the bad things of life than the good things; is as simple as ignoring that feeling and you'll start to see the actual life's good things
