Is it normal i think that 18 year olds should go to a diffrent school

there was a lot of 18 year olds my senior year . They all seemed to get the short end of the stick the schools treated them like krap and never gave them the time of day . On top of being so unlucky of having to finish the year out as a 18 year old they could be accused and nothing would happen to the other person . I think this is kind of sad and after hearing of cases when some 18 year old gos to jail for having sex even if it was with Consent to their 16, 17 year old girlfriend is going to be labled a pedophile for the rest of his life I think there is something wrong here. No I do not think children should have sex with adults but really if you shove a bunch of children age 14-18 year olds together and you are surprised when they hook up even though some these cases have been together few years before they turned 18 ? I have thought of a solution that would fix this. I think they should make a separate campus for 18 year olds finishing school or a school for only seniors . That way they do not have to mingle with all the younger children and there will be no dilemmas. The fact a 18 year old has to suffer in school that will at this point turn their backs on them is not right . I mean they assume because they are 18 they have gained the magical powers to control people at will . No not really and at this age they are already fed up and ready to go off as they know they are leaving . This makes them a target as they can not do anything to defend themselves I think they need to be separated for the safety of the SENIORS and the Safety of the lower classmen . For anyone who has seen a senior beat the krap out of a younger classmen that was egging them on , It is not a pretty site at all .

    It wouldn't really be cost effective or practical to make a whole other section of the school system just for 18 year olds. It sounds like your school has some issues, but I don't think those issues are caused by people turning 18.

    But doesn't the other person have to be under a specific age in order for the 18 year old to be classified as a pedophile?
    It's different for every country, the age for sex in Japan for example is 13 years old, Sweden it's 15-16 so I guess if the legal age for sex is 18 then yes it would be a problem.

    I agree with this but I think it should be the people that are 17 to 18 and up that should go to another school

            Consent means little in the law the parents can still sue if they wish too push charges since it is infact a minor .

      you can legally have sex whenever it is not adviced till later years but 18 is a legal adult so a 18 year old can not have sex with anyone under that age or its technicly rape its statotory rape and they still go to jail with an offence even if it is 17 and 18 the 18 year old still commited an offence and is considered a SEX Offender by court of law .

    But what happens when your 18th birthday is in April and you graduate in May. At the last minute, you'd be forced to go to a completely different school.

    I don't quite know what to say to this.

    The current schooling system has allowed 18 year olds to stay in high school for god knows how long. Getting a separate area for them would cost allot of time and money. Money which probably wouldn't be in the country's budget. Not all 18 year olds are pedophiles and not all minors are naive. In regards to dating, I think the importance of state laws and parents wishes should be respected. 16 is often the legal age of consent and legal age of "adulthood" in many places. I don't see the problem of a 16 year old being with a 18 year old, especially in those circumstances. If anything, schools and parents should do their best to properly teach sex-ed. Knowing about their bodies and how to take care of them would have a much better effect on society.

    I hope what I've written makes sense.

      It does but they can still push as a pedophile becuase 18 is an adult and it is only consent at age 16 if parents say yes . So if a 16 and 17 year old are together its ok but it its a 17 and 18 year old they commited a felony I think if anything maybe give 17 year old legal adult statis at the least . Also none of these schools are cost effective to begin with or proficuant at all .They have tons of classes they dont need and some schools like the highschool I went to had 5 diffrent classes that were the same class , same teaching was considered excactly the same in the school but only 3 of them counted as credit . So the other too were just practice and only certien kids had to take the practice class so they were taking it twice even if they got a B in the class and it was the excact same class . I think that is a waste of money I think throwing a few more dollars into a extra school to seperate the seniors would be best . Schools already waste all this money on nothing anyhow . So i do not see how this is any diffrent . Not to mention a school can choose who they can and can not teach . They say we like these kids and we do not like these kids so we will stick them in the classes that do not count and do not give them any collage credit . They will not be able to take the A -Z requirements and they will only be able to go to the community collage . I think the fact they are even able to keep kids up to 25 in highschool is WRONG ! I mean if a school is doing there jobs they will not have a child that long .
