Is it normal i think the karma belief is ridiculous

people believe in karma religiously. i especially find it annoying when strong atheists believe in karma. the same people who talk crap about god, others beliefs & ironically use the "there's no proof god exists" line.

There's no proof karma exists either. i have my own reason for my disbelief. i consider myself a good person but my life isn't good at all. i help others when i can because i love helping people. there's nothing i've done that would make me deserve where im at in ny life now & have been for years. there's plenty of genuinely bad people that have better lives, always have had it better & always will..

what are your thoughts?

karma is simply treating others as you would want others to treat you.

its not brain surgery, live your life as an asshole that fucks everyone along the way and people fuck you back, be respectful of others and you will get the same.

    Don't believe me, try it.

Right or wrong? We all can form our own beliefs, and judging who's right is Gods claim to fame. My advice, best to be safe then sorry. There is a Hell. I've been there. You become a believer quicker than it takes to be saved. No Bull Shit. So take your chances that's your choice.

People don't understand the original law of karma. It doesn't say that you reap everything you sow. Any action would have the possibility of a reaction on 7 levels.

Immediately, within the day, week, year, lifetime, next life, within an eon (or something like that). And that only applies to karma that you reap.

When you reach different levels of consciousness, karma stops being generated, and that's going outside the cycle.

  • People believe in karma to avoid the fact that they won't do anything for pay back, so they leave it, putting their faith in "karma" to punnish them. Then when ever something bad happenslater in that persons life, they'll say it's karma...

I think it's funny that every girl that gave me shit in junior high/high school when I was new got pregnant. Literally all of them.

Granted, I don't think that that is karma. It makes sense that girls that have no respect for others would also have no respect for themselves. But still, it's fun to ponder about...

The natural order of things is pretty complicated.

But I don't believe in the concrete "What goes around, comes around." You can be a great person and help others and be as selfless as humanly possible but if you're a heron addict, your life is going to suck.

But Karma is more than just a concrete what goes around comes around. It's more of "everything everyone does has an effect on everyone else, who, in turn, effects everyone else". In other words, your actions affects others no matter what you do and it can be a positive or negative effect but those actions will have a reaction and if the action was positive, the reaction will more than likely be positive.

That said, it doesn't always work like that. This is a world where millions of good people have suffered and died because of the decisions of a few bad people and those bad people will never be punished. The world is not simple, and can not be solved with a simplified answer, it is best that we as human beings accept that the world is complicated and all we can do is try to widen our perception enough for it to captivate the entirety of our understanding. No one man may ever truly figure out the world and life... but those Tibetan monks come pretty damn close, shoot...

I hate when karma is referred to as something that can be measured but the principal of karma is just taking advantage of every opportunity, aiding others and never treating yourself like your only a secondary character in the story of your own life.

OP you have an accurate view of the world. Other posters do you think Machiavelli would have the influence he has had if being devoid or morality didn't help many people advance. I know many good people who struggle. While the morally bankrupt are successful. Good women who get raped, while malicious vindictive women never get an agressive hand laid on them. Children get cancer. Taysachs happens(wiki it)

  • I believe in karma. They say sometimes good people have to face hard times yet nothing bad will truly happen to good people... and bad peole will recieve the judgement in time for thier wrong doings. Thats what I was taught and I do believe it.

I think of Karma as the same concept of God. Where God was created to help people believe their life isn't actually meaningless/to alleviate some fears of death/to prevent people from sinning, I think Karma was created to try to make people into better and nicer people in hopes that they will receive some kind of cosmic reward in this life or the afterlife.

So, yes it's normal. Your reasoning is justified and I also agree with it.
