I want to see places outside my country. However I do not want to take an airplane for 2 reasons. One being I have pets and airlines are renown for killing and losing pets. Another reason is I have a paranoia that it is going to blow up with me on it. What would I do in this case?
It sounds like one love (animals) is getting in the way of the other love.
So, either take that leap of faith and bring your animals along, or wait to travel until they are no longer in your life.
Also, you can hire someone to watch your pets while you're away. Many pet shop offer that as a service.
Maybe even one of your friends would be willing.

I've always wanted to go backpacking or on a long hiking trip, but I have 3 cats because my bleeding heart couldn't say no when animals needed me. XD
I've almost entertained the idea of taking them with me, except Lilith is so traumatized from the guy who had her before I don't think she'd take to it very well. Couldn't take them on the Appalachian trail, it's a 5 month hike and that'd be all kinds of weather changes.
Still, you could do some research and find an airline that's good with taking care of the animals, you could take a ship instead though that would be a longer trip.. Find a petsitter as people said, get a friend to look after them maybe?
As for fear of flying, for the feat it is it's all pretty safe. I've flown several times, always a bit nervous but it's always kind of relaxing once you're actually up in the air. It's pretty freaking beautiful up above the clouds.
how about you save your money and watch something on tv instead you'll have your pets and your money to enjoy and wont have to worry.
Life is all about choices and weighing your options. You have laid out the pros and cons of this scenario. If you want to travel far and wide, you either fly or find other ways to get where you are going. You also have to be able to pay somebody to care for your pets. That's life. Your other choice is not to get the pets in the first place.
