If anyone ever deliberately killed one of my cats I would kill them with no regret (unless I was caught I would regret jail) Do most people feel this way about their pets?
Oh hell yeah. It would be okay to do so. If someone killed my fish I would torture them to death. They deserve the right to live just like anyone else.
Dude, if someone deliberately killed my dogs, oh my goodness. There are worse things to do to someone than kill them.
I'm not sure if I would or not, but I've had dream that I've killed someone for killing my cat, so... Maybe?

I do not see your point. People kill for way less reasons than that. I think that's a perfectly reasonable reason to kill someone.
That is like killing to save your child. That is something you should kill for. A lot of people hate losing pets. It makes sense you would fight to defend yours. Animals also have zero rights. So we must fight if we think they should have any. Like not being killed under our watch. Psychos do this when they are rejected. This has sadly happened before.

Of course, pets are part of the family so you should be protective. I feel the same about mine.
If someone killed one of your cats and you killed the person, you would end up in prison and then what would happen to your remaining cats? And don't say someone would look after them because they're probably spoiled rotten and anyone you left them with wouldn't have them a month before they dumped them at the pound.
I used to say that about my Alaskan Husky, Blackie. Though I would have never gone through with it.
