Is it normal if my mother talks about my body like this?

Is it normal that my mother says things like "if I had had your tits when I was younger..." etc? She makes comments about my chest and figure in a way that makes me uncomfortable sometimes. She gets angry when I say I don't like it but I think that my boundaries are fair? Am I in the wrong?

I think it's a fairly common thing for older people to talk about things they wish they had when they were younger. Being about someone else's secondary sexual characteristics makes it pretty awkward, though...

What's definitely not normal or ok is the way she treats you for expressing your discomfort. I'm sorry she's being such a bitch.

Your boundaries are yours to make, and they most certainly aren't unreasonable here.

  • Perhaps that’s her way of encouraging you to get out there and show them off or put them to good use!

I would say it's normal, but just let her know that it makes you feel uncomfortable.
