Is it normal if you don't have anyone to talk to in your uni major?

I'm a senior, psych major, and pretty shy to boot, and ever since I took psych intro classes, I haven't really bonded or connected to anyone even to say hi to them or anything. That's not to say that I was completely alone - one of my actual psych friends transferred out, and another already graduated last quarter :/ Idk if that's normal or not.. it's weird though, since I've made more friends outside of my major than in.

I don't really have friends in my Uni classes, But I feel like they all seem to be friends with each other. So this is something I myself have occasionally thought about. I reckon it's your choice who you're friends with at the end of the day, though. You go to class to learn, not to improve your social life. Or this is what I tell myself, anyway.

Why would it be strange? There's nothing abnormal about this. Just because you take a class/course with others doesn't mean that you have to make friends with them. The last two courses I took I made friends with no one. I was too paranoid and insecure to do so. Then, I ended up quitting the classes for various reasons.
