I had some experience with vehicles that were not licensed. Such as go carts and gold carts I have driven. Every-time I have driven one of these I was not the greatest driver. I don't drive places I usually have to bus or get another means of transportation but I am afraid I am going to kill someone if I do ever get a license.
I used to hate driving. If you get exposed to it enough, you'll eventually get desensitized to it, though. It's not that bad once you're past the fear phase.
To an extent, I think that's a good thing. It means that you're aware of the responsibilities and dangers that come with driving. I know how to drive, but I'm still a bit scared of what people (including myself) could do while driving.
A lot of people are afraid/don't like driving. If you need to get somewhere, driving can be a handy thing.
Be calm and aware of what's in front of you. Of course you can check around the car with your mirrors, just try your best not to pay too much attention to cars behind you and other distractions.
I didn't have the desire to drive nor do I really like it now but I keep myself aware and relaxed.
Also, we all have our flaws in different things. Once you start driving a car, you can get more practice and understand how to become a better driver. Remember: You control the car. Not the other way around.
That's part of why I keep avoiding gettung my license. I have zero experience driving and it feels like just too much to focus on and be responsible for at once.

It's normal to be scared of driving, but honestly once you start I'm sure you'll love it :) it's scary to most people at first, but look at all the cars on the road, loads of people have passed. You won't kill anyone unless you go mad and drive onto the pavement.. Just make sure you know how to use the brakes ;)
Guh this just reminds me I need to learn how to drive. I'm a bit nervous as well to be honest, but the main reason for me is because I don't have a need to drive yet, since I can just walk to work
