Is it normal my aunt talks to a dog

I know it is normal to say good girl and stuff.... But I get pretty weirded out when she asks it questions and asks over and over again..... The dog is not going to answer.....
Is it normal to be worried about what is going on in her head??????

Of course it's normal. I talk to my flowers and the birds that fly by when I'm watering them. I talk to my TV and sometimes even the food I'm eating. It's normal to talk to things in general, not just dogs.

Animals like to be talked to. Sometimes when you say repetitive things to them they start to learn....'ok, this means <whatever>'. It's cool. Animals are awesome and they love the attention and deserve it too!!

I say things to my animals all the time, they know what certain words mean.

I talk to my cat. I love it and I think he enjoys that I am giving him attention and acknowledging him. He almost always meows back. Hes very vocal..like super vocal. His meow sounds like hes saying "no", its funny.
Me: Hi sweet baby Thor, did you know that youre so cute?
    Cat: No
Me: You dont? Well i love you.
    Cat: No
    Me: Yes, I do
Cat: Noo (dragged out deep meow)
