Is it normal my cat likes to block my way

when my cat walks in front of me, she doesn't always follow a straight line, even on a narrow path. She does a zig-zag walk, meaning I have to be careful not to step on her accidentally. I wonder if she does it to slow me down or prevent me from overtaking her. Does anyone else's cat do this? IIN?

  • One of my cats always does something similar to yours. Another one would always run and get between my feet when I would go down the stairs. Almost fell down the stairs a couple times.

Totally normal. Cats, although independent, crave their owners attention. And will trip you to get it.

I have a cat that likes to race me to my room and runs through my legs. Almost fell a few times.

Perhaps she's pretending she's a cat sailor and is "tacking" by setting her sails at a 45 degree angle to the wind. Arrr, Cap'n Catbeard!

Yes, they do this all the time. All 6 of them. And they do this for attention tbh.

my cat tends to splay himself on the floor in everyone's way and doesn't even care if you trip over him. he also sits at the top of the stairs in the basement and stare at me doing stuff on the computer.he creeps me out sometimes

  • My cat always stands in front of me when I walk down the stairs. Then I have to either take one big step over him or move over to walk past him. It's quite weird.
