Is it normal my cat meows until it's asleep on my lap?

My GF rescued an abandoned cat who's roughly 5months old and she won't stop meowing or go to sleep unless she's sat on my lap when I'm on the sofa, or on my chest. Also she won't stop meowing when I'm about to sleep unless she is lying in bed with her head on the pillow.

is it normal she constantly meows unless she's asleep on my lap?

My family used to have a lot of cats before we moved. And a lot of people used to drop off kittens that they couldn't give away. They'd just leave them in the bushes by our house, (even on cold nights) and hope we'd find them. Made me so mad!

The cat I have now is one that was dropped off. When he's sitting next to me, he climbs up to my neck and starts kneeding me. Definitely "issues".

The "rescued" animals usually have been abused and abandoned, and its fairly common for them to have a few issues.

That is so sweet. My cat got seperated from her mom really young and she has seperation anxiety now. Cries if I go to the store until I come back, can't stand closed doors, used to follow me to every room, but she's growing out of it slowly as time passes.

Wow this is so cute. I found my cat in the middle of a busy city street when she was about two months old, she's also very anxious, had fuckedup periods and she begins now to like being cuddled after 2years

  • She probably feels scared or anxious until she's cuddled up with a warm body who will take care of her.

We take kittens and puppies away from their mothers and siblings when they're so young, it's no wonder some of them end up with "issues".
