Is it normal my cat mothers me?

I pretty much grew up with my cat (she's 19) and all we seem to do is play fight. I've noticed as she's got older she enjoys a cuddle a lot more but I have noticed she's developed a strange habbit. I got ill last year to the extent where I couldn't get out of bed, I remember her waking me up every few hours by licking my nose, I felt like she was making sure I was okay...or she was hungry lol. She stopped when I got better but she's started again, every Sunday morning I'm woken up like this, when I get home from work she'll sit on my chest and lick my nose (sometimes she accidently licks my eyelid- you wouldn't believe how much it hurts =/) and then as I'm lying in bed, she'll come and lick my nose before I go to sleep. So my cat has gone from only attacking me to giving me daily nose washes, is this normal?!

    I think that's so sweet. I have a 19 year cat also. She's not into doing what your cat does but my 8 year old cat does. Every night he washes my forehead and purrrrrs like crazy. And yes, he does lick my eyelids to wake me up. I think it's special.
    Animals do sense if we are sick. I'm glad your cat was there for you.

    I love cat kisses. I have a really awesome relationship with my Siamese cat, Andrew, but sadly he's not really a kisser. I used to have a Himalayan, Francis, and he would kiss me like a dog especially before bed and in the morning. I miss him.

    My cat used to lick my neck and face and chew on my hair. He did it even more if I was crying :)

    That's so sweet. I had my cat for 15 yrs but he had to go to cat heaven last yr an I still miss him every day.

    A woman I went out with had very, very long hair and her cat would groom it for her every morning in bed. Cats often seem strange to me, but I do love them.

    That is so nice. I remember when my cat would open his mouth and rest his teeth on my arm knowing it wakes me up. He would do that or slightly press his claws in my skin just for a little attention. Lol

    I love cats.
