My cat, Gizmo loves to hang out on the roof and he has been caught rolling right off! Always lands ok, so it doesn't bother them. Cats are crazy, funny creatures!

    Yes and no.

It depends on how many stories you're talking. Interestingly for a more efficient and safe landing it should be actually OVER 2 stories (possibly four but I don't have exact data at the moment).

For small jumps - say off the table - the cat is already balanced, assuming it's an intentional jump.

But if the cat's falling off of something, being up higher means the cat has time to flip around to land properly and absorb the shock.

Thus, being up a couple of stories minimum guarantees a better landing, usually. i mean don't go chucking kitty off just to test this cos that's dumb. but the cat shouldn't be too bad off if it's fully healthy.
