Is it normal my cats shuffle a pet order

My 2 cats will come up to me, let me pet it for awhile, then randomly slowly move toward the other cat, then jump overr her and bolt away so I pet her instead. Then basically do the same thing once or twice more.

    May I be the third cat? I already have the fur. It is real tiger fur. But I kind lf lost my agility due to, well too much bumping around while humping , so please do not make me run around. I just puked a furball.
