Is it normal my computer echos on sound when i put in headphones?

I do this when I put in headphones but not when the headphones are unplugged. It didn't use to do this but I did recently get new headphones. Has anyone else had this happen?

it is easy to fix. If my memory serves right you can do it by going to the sound panel and turning off the mixer.

Well it depends, i use windows7 and it goes like this :
Start-control panel-sound-recording-click on the microphone, then properties-then on the 'device usage' pick disable.
That's how i fixed my problem. Hope it works :)

You have to turn off the mic. Guess it's in the control panel ( if ur using windows).

Look at your sound settings. Every time I buy new headphones, I have to readjust my sound settings to match the source audio.

Maybe your headphones are actually a headset and you're getting feedback from the mic.
