It's normal for your dog to sleep on your clothes. However, it's not normal to smack your dog for it.

Stop hitting your dog for finding comfort in the smell of you, you stupid twat!

  • the dog just recognizes your scent and wants to be around it....how crazy are you anyway? Thinking of giving the dog up because he sleeps on your clothes?

You sound like someone who shouldnt have a dog to begin with.

dont smack your dog because you are too lazy to wash your clothes. how about buying a basket that you can close and buy your dog a bed to sleep in. better yet, give your dog to someone who will take care of him properly and not want to get rid of him just because he thinks he is an inconvenience.

My dog sleeps on my dad's clothes. We think he finds the smell comforting.

Hitting him obviously isn't working for you (it rarely does), so maybe find some other way of stopping him taking your clothes. No dog is totally untrainable. Take him to someone who knows what they are talking about for advice; if you take him to a rescue home they'll be happy to give you some help.

Also, if you took a dog back to a rescue home giving the reason of "I don't think he can take any more smacks", you'd probably get arrested for animal cruelty, and quite rightly.

    Your dog can't have Smacks!

Smacks are one of many great cereals out there, but remember, Smacks are for humans!

I bet you have wooden or tiled flooring because your clothes would be warmer

  • Jack Russell's are assholes. I have two and I can't stop them from doing anything! I've had dogs all my life and am a capable trainer but these dogs just do as they please all the time! Crap on the carpet. Run out of the house and down the street. Dig up all the gardens. I've tried the food technique, the rolled paper, the reward technique-nothing-nada. I'm going to try the tazzer technique next. Try just putting your clothes in a drawer next time.
