Is it normal my dog takes my spot on the couch?

Every time I leave the couch to get something my dog automatically runs to the space where I was sitting and lays there. Thus when I return to the couch she's all curled up and comfy in my spot. Is this normal?

My dog does this but I just think it's her sense of humour. She sighs when I tell her to move.

I slipped one time on wet grass and my other dog jumped over me from side to side with his tail wagging like mad. I swear, it was the first time I'd seen a dog laugh!

...So the logical thing to do is to kick her out of her space, but not too hard though because the SPCA and PETA will be all over your ass!

The dog knows it will be nice and warm with your fat ass sitting on it.

So as soon as you move that gigantic butt of yours off the couch it will jump on that warm, butt scented, safe and comfy spot.

That and it was her place because if you have a job or do anything with that exquisite ass of yours, then your dog is actually the only soul to use that couch more than you.

Oh and your a fat ass <3

It's normal for a dog that views you as its inferior, which is what you are if you allow a freakin' dog to "take your place" on the couch. Why is the freakin' dog on the in the first place? If the dog was properly trained -- or trained at all -- it wouldn't be on the couch.

My dog would never dare do that. He does it to my bro, and me sometimes, but we don't let him on sofas unless somebody asks him up, so he's happy to stay on the floor. We give him bean-bags so he doesn't get uncomfy XD.

Haha my dog used to do this all the time and also every time I sat down he would jump on me and he is almost a big as I am. (he is a large breed) So I just gave up sitting on the couch all together and it's his couch now.

Maybe she likes a pre-warmed place. Can you tempt her away with a tasty little treat, then quickly take the spot?

But it's not your spot. It's hers. She's just reclaiming it.
