My friend has this really annoying habit that after she touches something she has to tap it once or twice and then she is fine. Like if she has a cup and sets it down she HAS to tap it. Me and my friends find I'd annoying
Is it normal??
When I was younger, before I met my kids mother I had this bad habit of tapping things too.... Many many things.
My mates thought I was a legend. Now there's only one thing that I tap... But I tap it pretty regularly ;)
Sometimes it can just be a comforting habit she's picked up nothing's wrong with her. We all have little things we do for comfort some more annoying than others
Sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder. Tapping, setting things down multiple times, random hand washing, light switches on off on off etc. , and saying something multiple times. I know someone who was diagnosed with OCD very well.

It's totally OCD! My friend has to tap the door knob before and after he opens it. My neighbor has to drive around the block a few times before she pulls into her driveway. I thought she was a freak but now realize she can't help it and it makes her anxiety go down. Look into OCD and you will learn a lot about this type of behavior and you can find ways to encourage your friend and help her. :)
I agree and if she does have OCD she might be embarrassed to admit it, not that it's something to be embarrassed about. And if she has OCD she can force herself not to tap when you are around but it will cause her unnecessary stress.
Or maybe it's just an annoying habit.
i don't know if this is what your talking about but i tap my fingers together and rock back and forth sometimes
My friend with High Functioning Autism does that, so maybe you should get that looked into.
