All of that makes me feel damn good to be living in Sri Lanka for a change. 50GB for USD 60/-
Yeah. I live in the country ( like 1000 feet away from AT&T and other ISP's) so I have Verizon Mifi for my internet, it has a data limit and my bill was like $480-500ish one month. It is just rediculous!
This sounds like something that could only happen back in 2001!
In the US anyway, you can get unlimited everything for as little as $35 a month. Contracts are a bit more pricey, but still, they're like maybe $80 or so for unlimited.....
I don't know what to tell ya....except get a better deal.
Damn penny-squeezing phone companies... I see they have you by the balls too, eh?
I hate having a phone sometimes, but it's damn near impossible now-days to not have one. So, you're screwed either way. My advise to you is to cancel your internet access on your phone immediately until you have your debt payed off. That last part will probably never happen though.
-.- unlimited text / internet / data / calling is only 80-90$ at the MOST in some places.
Get a better plan , for sure .
:)
What the actual fuck is wrong with those people....
Get an unlimited thingy for it... Its like 50$ a montfh? I dunno
I pay for my internet and everything else through pay as you go and if I can't afford it tough I can't have it. I would recommend pay as you go to anyone as you can see exactly what ur spending x
That sucks bawls, i casually get free unlimited 10 meg broadband and unlimited on my phone as well, my bill is £24 a month for the phone.
And I can even top that with unlimited broadband at home and on my phone, for £16 ($25) per month :)
What kind of phone did you get with this contract and how many txts and minutes? Whos this with? Mine is only so low because every year i upgrade i get something added on and they knock 10% of my contract. And ive had it for 4 upgrades.
I have a Blackberry Curve phone, unlimited texts and 500 mins. It's with Orange, but apparently they no longer do this particular package as it is a 'loyalty' one. The contract is 2 years and I get a free upgrade every 2 years.
I also have about 6 'Magic Numbers' friends and family who I can phone every day without using my minutes.
Be glad it's only $800.
In Japan internet usage is per packet not per minute. I read about a woman in the Stars & Stripes who racked up a $40,000 phone bill. Yes FOURTY THOUSAND - in US dollars.
And she couldn't fight the bill because her contract was in English and specifically stated what the usage rates were.
I don't remember the rate off the top of my head but it was based on how much data you downloaded and not for how many minutes you used.
According to softbank's site it's .084¥ per packet unless you have a flat-rate plan. That's only a penny per packet but those packets can add up

Another reason why i do not care if my phone has internet i do not use it...
My testing bills used to be very high. When I got back from my trip the bill was $1000+. It took me awhile to stop having high bills, but I finally found a way to stop the costs:)
Wtf? Were you texting entire countries? How do you get a cell phone bill for over $1000?!
What happened was I don't have unlimited texting and my phone had to be "unlocked" and made international. I went to three european countries and I had a serious "dilemma". First, I thought I was dying of a blood clot and my friends got worried. Then, I got bizarrely "ill"? When, I was in france my symptoms seriously progressed and the people I was traveling with were really controlling and refused to take me to the hospital. I had to literally text and get on the web in secret. I guess I used it a tad too much, but I was scared for my life. A few weeks later, I'm back and I hear about the bill and I had to pay out of my pockets:/
It was strange...
So you were surfing the web using your phone and went overboard on the megabytes? If so and if possible. When you are somewhere where free wifi is available try switching off the phone network radio(which means the companies internet) and turn on the wifi. Should also try using the internet less.
Hey man, I can actually relate to this; I did nothing wrong, and the bill went totally through the damned roof. The outrageous thing is that there wasn't supposed to be a f***ing bill to begin with, if my memory serves me correctly. It was my mother who was charged, and she actually f***ing paid it! Put simply, I never would have. Not in a million f***ing years. She's so damned passive.....
