Is it normal my pets always make me rush?

I find the pressure they put on me a bit annoying at times. I mean I can't go any faster. There is nothing for them to do but WAIT. It must be boring for them to sit there and watch while I take my morning dump. The dog does a tap dance on the floor tiles and motions her body towards the door like she wants both of us to leave together. The cat likes to stare from up on the counter and if I make eye contact with her she meows woefully at me like I'm torturing her by making her wait so long. What the hell, is this normal for them to rush me while I'm on the john?

It's not as if they need anything from me like food or a walk, they just want me to hurry up in the bathroom. I've tried locking them out and it doesn't help, they end up going all mental about it on the other side of the door. Having the cat claw the walls trying to get in isn't the best solution, so I let them in. I love my furry friends however it irks me that they are so impatient when I poop. I give them plenty of respect and privacy when they do it, so I'd expect some in return. What is their problem?!!!

  • Maybe it is because it means it is the start of their day and they are anxious for it to begin once you are finished.

    My cats get toilet pats.

    No, it's not weird.

Kick heir 4-legged asses out of the fuckin' house and make them live outdoors where fucking animals belong! But then you wouldn't have anything to complain about, would you?

Sounds like they're trying to assert dominance over you. It's natural.

Sing out of key while on the toilet. They'll get the message.

maybe you should consider seeing to their needs before you hit the john?

And shall I assume you've got them cleaning your butt for you? It would not be normal otherwise.

  • I love solitude... pets are beings, so they qualify as peace disturbers. So I know exactly what you mean.

I'll get a big guarding dog next year for myself, but it'll live in a back yard in an awesome kennel, unless we hang out or going places together.

I wish it would be the same with relationships. I'd build another kennel, even better one for a gf.

Sometimes I tease my kitty and just stand at the door asking if he really wants out. He cries and cries. But he deserves it because sometimes he jumps through an open window just to make me open the door. I don't get it.

When I had cats they would stick their paws under the door. I used to play toe tag. My bathroom is really small. But they looked forward to toe tag.
My dogs don't care. I leave the bathroom door open now and they come to visit. They leave when the air isn't pleasant any more! :)
But, I would say its normal for your pets to do that.
