Is it normal never skated?

Im a canadian and i have lived in canada for my whole life and i have never ice skated. I want to but i have no one to show me how and im afraid of looking stupid cause most people learning to skate are like 5.

    It's totally normal, living in Canada doesn't mean that you should skate. I am canadian and I have friends who don't know how to skate. However, you should try, it's not that hard and i'm sure that you'll like it. :)

    skating is such a fun thing.... never tried ice skating but i bet its cool .... i know how to the other way ... but yes do give it a try its all fun... dont worry of your size and age ... fun and feelings dont look at age just do it and enjoy and its not that hard you just have to learn to maintain your balance ... you will fall once or twice but thats how youre gona learn it....

    It's not like swimming and you don't really need lessons. I didn't, anyway. It more just about learning to keep your balance on a slippy surface (although technically ice isn't slippy at all, but don't get me started on the science).

    First time around, you normally pick it up in about 20 minutes. And every time after that, you just need a couple of minutes to refresh yourself (until you get good at it).

    Enjoy yourself! Ice skating is amazing.
