Is it normal not acting excited during a trip in europe?

Last year I travelled with a friend for the first time, we made a tour around Europe (he is european). The thing is that he got extremely angry at me and complained all the time because I wasn't showing "enough excitement". He said I ruined his experience because nothing seemed to impress me, and he felt it was insulting to "his continent".

Travelling is the activity I enjoy the most. I am a photographer too, so I am always happy to be in new places.

I felt quite happy during all the trip, but indeed, I wasnt screaming "WOOOWWWW!" or anything, I was just enjoying everything silently.

I have been thinking though... is it the normal behaviour to act like a kid in a candy store when you are in Europe? Was I too cold? Could it be considered as lacking emotions?

Well, he had to get off work, plan the trip and spend big money on this trip with you..so it would have been cool if you showed a bit of exitement or at least a few '' woah, that's nice''..

I can understand him, I did the same thing but in Canada and after a few days of not having any feedback, I was about to tell them to f*ck off and spend the day on the internet if that's what they like.

I spent almost 1000$ on people who didin't seem to give a shiit about the efforts people were doing and always comparing Canada to their homeland.... I could have used that time, efforts and money on me instead.

    Get my drift?
