Is it normal not being able to control laughter in class?

My English instructor is African and has an accent. After watching the "Eat da poo poo" video (Ugandan speech against homosexuals), I have a hard time retaining the laughter in class. I try so hard to ignore the thoughts of him saying, "Eat da poo poo!" It can be a problem because sometimes I need to leave the class, so no one thinks I'm being an asshole laughing at his lectures.

I hated it when I was being told off by a teacher and I had a huge urge to laugh. I'm sure one of them was deliberately trying to make me laugh. He'd say things like, "Look here now, buttermilk. You'll be in queer streets before Tuesday".

No way!!! I had and African English teacher too!! His name was mr. Karanja. At first, I laughed so hard when he did lectures but after awhile he turned out to be really awesome. Accent or not, he will always be my favorite English teach.
