Is it normal not to worry about being burglarised?

This may sound really strange but I often forget to lock my doors when I go out. My partner gets really angry with me but my attitude is that if someone needs something that I have, then they can have it. Obviously, I'd rather they ask so I can give it to them but if they want to steal it, then go ahead. I don't have anything of any great value that can't be replaced. BTW I have no house insurance either. Is this attitude to possessions normal?

Burglarised. My least favourite word. Why not just burgled? A burglar burgles, or burgled, or is burgling.

Anyway, can you tell me your exact address?

  • Ugh. One of my fairies was like this. But my unicorn ate her.

    R.I.P Yellette.

  • 'Burglarized' for our American friends, burgled for the Brits.

My partner has nothing of value either but he knows he would get the job of tidying up any mess. I'd just sweep it out the door and throw it in the bin.

If my house burnt down I'd lose millions but it wouldn't be the end of the world, we'd just have to move. As long as I got the animals and kids out, the rest can go. We started off in a 2-bed apartment and we could go back to that. We do insure our vehicles though but not the house for buildings or contents.

The Bible says if we have 2 coats we should give one away, we have all too much stuff anyway! They are only 'things'.

I've never known someone with this! Cool attitude. But your partner doesn't want their stuff stolen so respect that.

I don't worry about these things either. Living in fear of someone taking your stuff is a waste of energy. It's just stuff.

umm, you might want to get insurance for the house. because it may not get robbed, but it could still burn down. and since you lack insurance, you would basically be screwed beyond belief.
just thought i'd let you know.

  • I do that too. Only because the neighborhood I live in everyone knows each other and out of all the houses on my street, I highly doubt they would pick my crappy one.

Obviously someone else pays for all of your stuff. I can't afford to have anything taken.
