Is it normal/ok to not to flush every time?

Ok so when I go to pee I don't flush the toilet. I drink a lot of water and coffee throughout the day and I know I'm going to use the toilet again in about 10 minutes or so. Usually I do flush about the 4th or 5th time, most of the time I need to do a № 2 before it reaches that, which I ALWAYS flush.
Is it alright to leave the yellow to mellow?

In addition the situation is this toilet is almost exclusively used by me. But another question, if this was a more "public" toilet would it still be ok or wrong?

    I use water from my shower to flush the toilet and only flush about every second or third time I have a pee, always after a poo. If you're a bloke and not using paper when you pee, you could leave it much longer. Too much paper without flushing can block your toilet.

    I ALWAYS put the lid down before I flush and have a sign asking visitors to do the same, although apparently some of them can't read or don't care that flushing with the lid open sprays all sorts of things for quite a distance.

        Buckets in the shower, when they're full take the top off the cistern, turn off the tap from the water supply to the toilet and fill cisern from buckets. Easy!

        I don't know about other places, but here in Australia I think it's ridiculous to be flushing the toilet with pure clean drinking water. In my previous house the shower was over the bath and I used to leave the plug in and collect enough water for flushing the toilet and watering the trees.

    I use only 50 liters of water per day. Leaving yellow to mellow is socially responsible. Water and energy conservation are important skills on our overly crowded planet.

    We haven't flushed for over a year already. Been using greywater from washing machine and shower water. My arms are pretty buff already carrying two 10l buckets up and down all the time.

    It saves water. Nasty to leave it behind in a public toilet though. No one wants to walk in on someones "yellow in the mellow"

    Of course it is fine to mellow yellow. Just make sure brown is down. Make your man that pisses everywhere clean up after himself too.

    Who cares?
    It's your house.
    But, if you leave things in there, you'll have to scrub the toilet more often.
    Also depends where you live, and what the water situation is.

    It's normal for conserving water, but I don't do it personally because I don't like pee smelling up my house. A better alternative is to install a dual flush toilet.

    I flush every time out of habit, but I could see how some people would see that as wasteful. Your method seems practical, especially if you're the only one that uses the toilet.

    The problem though is that piss has a lot of minerals that tend to cling to the internal piping and the bowl.
    As long as you use a strong toilet cleaner on a regular basis it should be alright.

      Rubbish, there's no need to strong chemicals: I use carb soda and vinegar to clean my toilet once a week or more often if it needs it.

    It depends. When I pee I don't flush cause it's pretty odorless. When my dad pees and doesn't flush it will make you gag. If you're like me then there's no need to flush all the time. If you're like my dad then FLUSH.
