Is it normal rat names?

Each time I adopt a litter of rats, I try to find names for them that have a common theme, such as characters from a specific mythology, book, film or TV show. I was all out of ideas with my latest four and I thought I'd turn to is it normal to ask for suggestions. Then, however, I thought it'd be a better idea to actually name my rats after is it normal members. So I did it.

I think I've chosen wisely and my rats resemble their namesakes (or at least how I imagine their namesakes). Can you guess what the Fab Four are called? And was it normal to name my rats this way? I would have named them after Italian Renaissance artists but hey, they're rats, not turtles.

I think you are confusing them with arachnids.

      • It's a common meme/joke/whatever. I've seen people say it about all kinds of animals, even gingers.

I am in fact aware that rats don't lay eggs :O

Holy sock rockets! I completely missed the fact about rats laying eggs. See Tommy, this is what insomnia does to the mind!

I think I have seen the "kill it with fire" on some other parts of the inter webs. Just like there have been countless of Hitler memes (Some of which have been quite enjoyable.) and the little stick figures who seem to have created a movement of their own.

          • It was sarcasm. Everybody knows they don't lay eggs. I wasn't informing you of the fact, simply saying "no shit" to your arachnid statement.

Yes the "kill it with fire" one is around, but so is the "kill it before it lays eggs".

            • I'm confused. Didn't you say it before the arachnid statement rather than in response to it?

    • Steve? You can't give a rat a name like Steve. Too many bad connotations. The others I like, though.
