Is it normal: soccer is like sex?

Scientists from the Netherlands and Spain studied the hormone levels of Spanish fans during a match and found that levels of the sex hormone testosterone soared in male and female soccer fans regardless of their team's success.

The study was published in the journal PLoS One.

Now, here goes my question for all IINers who happen to be soccer fans: In your own opinion, does the excitement you have before/during watching a soccer game equals the excitement you have during sex? Do you feel like this study is accurate?

    In some ways soccer is kind of the opposite of sex.

    1. You usually don't want to sneak one past the goalie
    2. You don't want to kick the balls
    3. Depending on your preference you don't want to do it with a bunch of other guys
    4. Thousands shouldn't be watching you while it happens
    5. There's usually no penalty for being rough.
    6. You don't want to do it with someone needing pads

    Other ways it's similar:
    1: you get a lot of pats on the back when you score.
    2. If you do it well people will come.
    3. It's a smooth move to put balls between someones legs.

    Oh, i used to play soccer and still watch it, but there's no comparison in my opinion. Sex is more exciting. But then again spaniards take their futbol seriously, so i can see why some may disagree.

    Certainly not true! I like watching a good football match, but it's nothing compared to sex. That's countless times better!

    Offtopic: Here where I live soccer is called "football". And the football that Americans play is called "American football". You know, the American way to mistake hands for feet...

    Nothing in my life has come anywhere close to my club or national football team winning something important. No drug, no sexual act, no Christmas, birthday, or lottery win.

    There are some who say football is a matter of life and death. It's not. It's much more important than that.
