Is it normal some of the most renown popular universities in crap?

I noticed this with a lot of colleges/universitys. A lot of them are in the shittiest places imaginable. Even the popular ones like UCLA. These are suppose to be nice schools but if you walk out to get raped is it really worth going? Why are these schools so popular and why are they in such horrible areas? You think a good school would be in a nice area but people are flocking to go to a popular expensive college so they could get robbed or raped. I do not understand this!

    I agree with you in that some of those high end colleges are located in pretty sketchy areas.

    Theory as to why that is so: College students are poor, therefore the businesses around said college can't prosper thus the area won't grow into a nice district.

    There's a university where many people have been raped and there's even a neo-nazi group yet, people keep going there. I wouldn't, though. Perhaps, part of the reason people go to these places is because its convenient for them. Their family might live close by or they might have a job in that area. It might be because they feel that there's no where else for them to go, etc. I think what should be done is to tightened security and try to dispel of any harmful groups that could pose a threat to other personnel or students.

      Well a lot of people go to them for certain programs and well honestly a lot of them are great schools. However despite them being great schools the people around them and some in them are not such great people. The incident I spoke of is students being attacked walking home since the school is located in a bad area. I don’t see why all these renown colleges end up being in the worst areas imaginable. Yet still have a lot of people wanting to go to them.

      This was on the news. So it did happen. At the very popular school. This happened to students LEAVING the schools. Who attended the university. The reason why is that the school is located in a bad area. In fact a lot of very popular well known schools are in bad areas. I know you might be against what I am saying since you blindly support college but its the truth. I actually looked up the schools. Considering your name is truth teller you don't seem to know a lot.

          I am not going to UCLA. UCLA also did have people getting attacked outside the schools. A lot of schools really are located in bad areas.
