Is it normal, stress mixed with smoking

i know it is normal to feel stress or anger and when people push your buttons you have limits to what you can handle, i was a smoker of 7yrs and the past 2yrs i have been clean and started to train in the gym every day but i still get the cravings when stressed or the anger like i mentioned before.
i have given in and have the taste for the smokes when under pressure, however i can not smoke for 3days straight and not be bothered at all now this post is more support based rather is it normal.
is there any other way to deal with stress?

    I'm not addicted to smoking, but I definatly will find a cigarette if I get pissed off enough.

    I also think a good way to deal with stress is having sex or masturbating. And reading. Don't forget reading.

      Reading yes and the sex thing guess your right lol , but I try music and drawing I also tried mauy Thai boxing but was to costly

    I can understand where you are coming from as an ex-smoker who, yesterday, suffered the most stressful day of the year by far. My heart was racing, chest pains, I could feel myself flipping into panic attacks. I was really starting to lose my grip in the face of it which is unlike me. I normally cope well with pressure.

    I'll tell you what helped me more than anything, though. Music. In fact, it's helping more than pretty much anything, for all kinds of things.
