Is it normal that babies bore me?
I never want to hold my friends babies. I’m uninterested in the stories they tell about their children. I’m really not impressed with babies and don’t see what the fuss is about.

Yeah babies aren't interesting at all. They cry and poop and stuff. People act like babies are cool cause they're ashamed to admit they hate their whoopsie daisy babies.
I like babies especially when they make gurgly noises and look at me and smile, I don't know what it is about me...kids just like to stare at me, so it becomes awkward if I don't talk to them when they keep staring at me. Otherwise I avoid the little bundles of mischief
I've been staring at a sleeping baby for 45 minutes. It's very relaxing.
If ASMR bores you, I can see how a baby would.
I'm pretty sure my view on this will change when I become a father sometime in the future, but right now... I agree... Babies are boring and I hate it whenever someone hands me their baby and goes "Hold him/ her"... The hell am I supposed to do with your baby?! It can't walk, it can't talk, it can't understand anything I say to it...
So I have to sit there awkwardly, faking an "awww, what a cute baby", when all babies look the same. And all babies have a funky smell... It's not necessarily a bad smell, but it is a weird smell.
I also hate how parents obsess about their babies on social media and how they talk in a weird plural form. "We just ate baby food" "Our first tooth popped up" "We just pooped the diaper". Did you and your baby shit together in a diaper?! Stop it! Stop it now!
They bore you? Do you expect cartwheels and magic tricks from an infant?
Young infant humans are some of the most boring creatures on the planet, but parents are usually obsessed with them. Or at least they should be.
If you ever have a child, it's very likely you'll find yourself doing all the ridiculous stuff you see your friends and family who have babies of their own doing. You may believe that you wouldn't, but parenthood changes people in ways that no non-parent can truly understand.
