Is it normal that butlins picks the worst place names?

Okay, so having it in Skegness was bad enough. But BOGNOR REGIS and MINEHEAD? I mean, really? I'm betting on Shitterton next. Or Scratchy Bottom. Anyway, is it normal to demean your company in such a way?

Haha! Skegness was the first one that came to mind before I even opened your post. There used to be one at Pwllheli too which, if you pronounce it the way the Welsh do, doesn't sound too far different from "pathetic". They've got something in Looe as well, which sounds like a toilet. Plus the resorts used to be owned by the "Rank" organisation. It's a joke, isn't it?

The Pontins sites sound a lot better. I hope the accomodation is better than it was when I was a kid. My abiding memory is a mouldy smell, a huge spider, and me and my sister getting caught in the biggest hailstorm of my life on the way to a screening of Mary fricking Poppins which both of us were familiar with and hated but even seeing a film we both detested was better than staying in the "hut" where even the rats were depressed and were building little rat-gallows to hang themselves.

I'm actually beginning to think it may all be one big joke, yes.
