Is it normal that cats behave this way

Hello everyone. This is really for you cat owners out there. I have never had a cat before. but it seems like some of you cat lovers are a little...crazy. like my sister. she drove from another state just to deliver these cats to my house(she had to give them up but didnt want to take them to a shelter so she was looking for a home) i was so opposed but my boyfriend barely convinced me, saying that a "cat makes a house a home" cat lovers is this ttue?

anyway, is it normal that these cats are very very affectionate ALL Teh TIME, they literally grind on me, begging to be petted, they LOVE to be touched/petted, are all cats like this? ex i know some breeds of dogs are more aggressive/affectionate than others, but is the same true for cats?

These cats are always purring around the house, they stroll lazily together everywhere, and sleep wherever they please, but theyre very very VERY picky. my sis told me to only feed them meow mix and meow mix only. I went to the store to buy them food a 5lb bag of "whiskas" brand, and they refused to eat it, wouldnt even touch it.

Goshhh! are cats this picky and snotty? does one have to constantly give them what they want? Ive cut their nails by the way so they wont scratch me, they scratched my boyfriend when he made the mistake of trying to give them a bath in "not so cold" water (i called my sis and she said no no it HAS to be warm water otherwise they wont bathe)

My goodness! These cats are a hassle. One of them is right now grinding on my leg and the other is watching me from the tv stand. They are very beautiful mind you, but are all cats this way?

Only happy cats!! actually their personalities do vary a lot... it seems people often complain they are too distant and aloof, but you're complaining of them being too affectionate?! btw you don't have to bathe them or cut their nails, just give them something to scratch on

I just put my 11 year old beloved kitty to sleep 2 days ago. He had a mass on his spleen that burst and he was bleeding internally. I'm still a mess.
But anyway, he was a love bug. Constantly purring, followed me to every room I went. Licked my eyelids softly to wake me up. Loved cuddling.
He ate whatever cat food I gave him.
Never gave him a bath. He kept his own fur smelling great.
I'm jealous you have such loveable cats.
    I miss my baby.

    • That's so sad, he was still young (my cat is the same age). I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like he had a good life and genuine connection with you.

Thank you for your thoughts. He was a great cat. His nick name was Jungle Kitty because liked hiding behind the plants on my counter and pounce at me all in fun.
They just nestle in your heart and stay there.
        Cats are great.

    • I'm sorry for your loss, it's awful when you lose a kitty like that and especially when you have such a connection with them.

Yes, we had a great connection. Thank you for your thoughts. He knew when I was upset. He would come over and try to console me. He knew when I was happy and play Jungle Kitty. Leaping at me from behind the plants wanting to play.

  • Normal. One of my cats will only eat biscuits and the other only likes chicken and light flavoured cat food, anything like beef or rabbit, she won't eat.

  • Cats are EXTREMELY social animals and require a lot more attention than most pet owners give them.

When you make eye contact with a cat, slowly close your eyes and then open them (like a long wink with both eyes). Cats love this because it is a way of saying everything is good and you mean them no harm. If you do it to a cat, they will probably do it back to you. Kittens might not though, because they are babies.

Enjoy their cuteness. I'm quite envious, there's nothing better than kittens or puppies. :)

1.Cats do like to be petted but also note that they have glands and are basically claiming you as theirs and no that isnt anything bad.

2.Cats can sleep nearly everywhere and usually sleep a lot during the day.

3.The cats are probadly used to eating that food.

    4.Most cats HATE baths.

    I don't like cats. I think they are d-bags.

Expect kittens. There will always be a place in my heart for kittens.

In fact, I'll go youtube kittens right now.
