Is it normal that facebook makes me hate people

So I only really go on Facebook to check up on certain fanpages and bands, but to get to those I often have to scroll down endless pointless statuses of people saying something pointless about pointless things they're doing or posting pictures of pointless stuff. Like who even cares? I mean call me cynical but the whole thing just seems so shallow and phoney and it makes me hate people, even the people I like. People wonder why I don't use Facebook very much or post anything but I literally think the whole thing is so pointless. Like who cares if you just fed your cows on farmville, or that you're watching a movie, or that these are the pictures of your new boyfriend for this week. Who even cares.

    Than don't fucking friend! You don't have to friend everyone who asks. If you want to just like fan pages like the fan-pages. You don't even have to put Friends on your Facebook.

    Hm. Facebook doesn't bother me. Most of my people just post funny links to stuff and I'm pretty cool with that.

    I deleted my facebook because I was tired of the stuff others posted. The only reason I had one was to share things in my life with family and friends I don't see often but when I added people from school that I knew then I got annoyed

    I agree, it can be shallow and phoney. There's a lot of 'look how great a time I'm having', 'look how great my life is, look!' stuff going on. And sometimes it just seems false and really those people may be feeling insecure and that's why they feel the need to kinda show off in that way. It's very interesting. An example quickly... I know someone who posted a photo of their cute kid that got tons of likes and what not. I was actually there when they took the photo and know that in reality, it took about ten minutes to get that perfect shot (of how great their life is!) and they were getting super annoyed at the time. So fb sometimes is a way of showing others what you want them to see. Filtering out the crap, basically. It's not very real half the time.

    Normal. It doesn't irritate me that much though. I usually have a good laugh at their stupidity.

    You can make it so that you don't see their posts on your news feed. That's what I did too all the annoying young mothers.

    It's normal and I understand what you mean! On my Facebook, all I see are posts/pictures of people's babies or them talking about their boyfriend/girlfriend and gushing about him/her over and over! It gets so old!

    I friend only my friends. Most of the time I like what they say! I only have 100 friends or so and 48 requests I ignored because I don't really give a crap about what they are doing ...

    I have FB to keep in touch with family, friends, etc. but I HATE app requests, they are so annoying! Also the drama is ridiculous, but sometimes it's kind of amusing.
