Is it normal that i’m deathly afraid of chickpeas?

Ever since I was 10 I’ve been so grossed out when I even think of chickpeas. The word gives off a baby vomit color to me. When I hear chickpea I can smell actual shit and I don’t know why. Is this a condition? It also happens with pistachios and certain names. However, chickpeas make me go into anxiety attacks. Please respond!

  • That's why the Mexicans call them garbanzo beans. Even though I may be biased because I love chickpeas, this still seems really strange.

It'd be one thing to find certain food names mildly off-putting, but another to be having anxiety attacks from them. Maybe you should face your fears.

Whatever more garbanzos beans for me then.

They are great, you can add bake them and add them to a salad or just eat as a crunchy snack

Hummus is great too to experiment with

What's the difference between a lentil and a chick pea?

President Trump has never had a lentil on his face.

No. It would be normal if it was something less healthy though. I am deathly afraid of soda and donuts during a cut!

How do you run into enough chickpeas on a daily basis to make this an issue?

The association is understandable. They are the colour of baby vomit (don't ask me how I know that - I don't have kids). Also, 'chick' and 'pea' are words denoting little things. You might call a child 'chick' or 'chicken' as a pet name, and kids' toys, wallpapers and Easter treats are often decorated with pictures of chicks.. and babies are often fed mushy peas.

Just stay away from those foods and you'll be fine.
