Is it normal that i always feel like there's someone behind me?

Every time I'm in my house (it rarely happens in other places) I feel like someone's sneaking up behind me. Not someone I know or live with but someone or something else. If I try to resist the urge to look behind me, it literally gets to a point where I feel like I'll die if I don't look. I even see things behind me in the mirror that aren't actually there. If I'm walking in a hallway or through a room, sometimes I have to start running because the fear gets so intense and real that I feel like I'm being chased. When I was young (11 or 12) I used to have to walk down the stairs sideways with my back against the wall so I could see around me. Does anyone else experience this?

You have Delusion Disorder. Unfortunately, medication does little to help this condition. Your best bet is to get into a therapy group for people like yourself. You will make friends and see what works for them. A group leader that knows Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help everyone feel socially comfortable. The group can be your refuge from the real world for awhile.

Please believe me, you can get better.

Do you have a dog? Get a dog. If you have a dog then you will have more home security.
