I have a serious fear of butterflies. I can't even walk by them. Something about the way they fly and the colors of their wing really freak me out. Monarch butterflies are the worst. They just look so creepy. I am so afraid of butterflies that I would rather be in a room with a large spider over a large butterfly any day. Is this normal?
My friend is the same way. What a shame, I thin butterflies are beautiful.
I don't want to hate on your because of your phobia. I have a silly fear of the dark, even though I'm 18 :P
But anyways, I think butterflies are beautiful. I wish I could be one. The way they just flutter around seems to peaceful to me.
But really honey, butterflies aren't anything to be too afraid of. Let one land on your hand, and you'll see. They're harmless.
I used to have a cat that was afraid of butterflies. He was stung by a bee as a kitten and never quite got over his fear of anything smaller than him.
me tooo ! i watched that episode of spongebob with "wormy" when i was younger now im tottally freaked out about butterflies. the way the flutter and how they look up close its sooo freaky. i scream every time i see one.
Is this fear because you think butterflies are gross?
If it is any consolation to you, I find most insects to be gross, no matter what they are. I don't care to have insects of any sort flying at me or landing on me. When I went to a butterfly house one time, I learned that their sense of taste was through their feet (like most insects for that matter) and they prefer the taste of something sweet. Most butterflies will not land on people because they instinctively know that people are not a source of sweet nectar.
