Is it normal that i am afraid to make a mistake as a cashier?
I fear that I am incompetent and scared that people will yell at my face and tell me that I am terrible at my job. I feel like I need to please everyone.

Its very normal, and you will make mistakes. I suck at math and I have ADD and I still have little problems with cashiering. Most people wont get mad if you make a mistake and if they do, so what? You will feel better about it as you get used to it.
Say, "Can you help me?" right before the fall?
Take what you can and leave me to the wolves
All I really want is something beautiful to say
Words are weapons of the terrified
All I really want is something beautiful to say
Keep me guessing, keep me terrified!
I've encountered a cashier like this before and thought nothing more of it. Not only with more practice will you become used to everything, but if a mistake does happen, just smile it off.
A little attention goes a long way these days. The machine does all the math, so go slowly until you get more proficient and you should be fine.
Dont worry about it. Its a simple job, I know because I am one, and most people dont care as long as youre nice to them and smile.
