Is it normal that i am exhausted after a few hours at university?

I am absolutely exhausted after university I can barely move. I'm absolutely knackered and can't force myself to do anything. I don't know if this is reasonable or normal because my commute isn't that long compared to some people and I'm a Humanities student so my contact hours are 12-15 hours a week. My commute (if I'm only travelling there and back once) is around 7-8 a week hours rounding up. I have to get two buses and if I have classes on two different campuses I have a 15 min walk between them. By the time I get home I am mentally and physically drained -- enough to sleep. I think it's the commute that tires me out so much, even though I know people travel for a lot longer. Is it normal to feel so unbelievably knackered every single day????

(For a bit more context on my travel)
Every day I have to get two buses to campus (and two buses back). The whole process takes about 45 minutes to an hour including walking but it would take 15 mins in a car (I'm learning to drive at the moment on weekends). This is my schedule in the morning:
9am: Walk to bus stop
907: Get on first bus
922: Get off bus
925: Walk up hill to second bus stop
930: Get on second bus
9.44: Get off second bus and walk to lecture

Rinse repeat at the end of the day. So that's 4 buses a day on average, 8 buses if I have a ridiculously long gap and can't stomach staying in the library for 6 hours (my campus is in the middle of nowhere really). My gaps aren't even that bad that semester though I am just SO TIRED. Is this normal? For low contact hour student?

do you drink coffee? maybe listen to some music or work on some homework on the commute/shuttle. sometimes when i take the shuttle, i get more tired when i just stare at my phone on social media.. open a book maybe and only limit yourself to reading it on the shuttle so that you have a story and plot to look forward to whenever you get on the shuttle. maybe invest in a skateboard or longboard to shorten the 15 minute walks from bus stops to class lectures. i have a 16 hour school schedule and i work 35+ hours a week so i understand how tired and drained you can be.. a balanced diet is important for your busy schedule because most likely you feel so tired because you havent consumed enough calories for the energy you are exerting. after you get home, try preparing yourself for the next morning. pack a bag and take some breakfast with you on the bus. prepare your coffee pot to have quick coffee when you wake up. try switching it up, maybe your body and mind are just tired of doing the same routine every day..

I know people who have much longer commutes than that and then work 8 or 10 or 12 hour shifts, so I don't understand why such an ordinary commute would be making you so tired.

It seems more likely to me that you're not eating properly or getting enough sleep or maybe you're bored or depressed.

Wow! How many hours of class do you have until you have to commute back home?

Honestly, I feel for you, because I've never had to take public transportation before, and I know I wouldn't enjoy it. I did used to have quite a long commute back in my early twenties. I would have to drive about an hour an a half to school and back. I also used to have to drive to my part time job back then too. One thing is I wish I had partied less and studied more. Study hard so you can be successful, and can afford an automobile of your own.

Hey! Thanks for your reply :) Man an hour and a half is rough. My commute is only just under an hour each way but oh my god it is so tiring. I don't really go out partying either as I commute from home and am too tired all the time anyway lol!
Monday is my worst day for hours (which is not even close to bad compared to some STEM student's timetables). I go in for a one hour 10am (so wake up at 8, leave my house at 9). I then have a two hour gap which I spend in the library (11-1). Then I have two lectures back to back for 3 hours (1-4). Then I travel back which takes an hour so I get home at 5. By the end of that day, despite only doing 4 hours I am absolutely ready to get into bed and sleep until the morning. It sucks so bad. On Thursday I have a four hour gap and much the same story.
Btw I do English so a LOT of reading and too tired to do any of it :'(

So coddled. I don't know if I should weep or give applause that the people that put in the hard work in the past allows such easy human existence.
