Is it normal that i am jumpy and scared of everything?

So.. This is going to be a long-ish post this is my first time and I signed up a few minutes ago so please bear with me.

I am spooked by everything, in the shower in the morning I can't close my eyes and I ALWAYS have to turn around just to check if something isnt behind me.Also, most people are comfortable around a group of friends or if they can hear someones voice at night right? Not me, I always think about time freezing and me dieing... I can't watch scary movies for the fact that I'll get little to none sleep for the next month or 2... And at night if I'm walking down stairs to get something or walking upstairs (pretty much walking anywhere) I feel like I'm about to die wether it be from a ghost or a villain in a horror movie... I close my eyes and bump into things because I'm so scare. I can't sleep with my legs out of the blanket because I think up the the most twisted things and I feel like they'll drag me somewhere in the middle of the night. Btw I don't smoke pot, cigars, or cigarettes and I don't drink. Please if you have some strategies to avoid this post them. Thanks!

Sorry, but I think you should consult a psychiatrist. He might think it advisable, for example, to prescribe an anti-anxiety medication. Or maybe you have a hormonal imbalance, etc. In any case, there may very well be a way to help you so that every-day life becomes way more enjoyable and easier to get through.

    GOOD LUCK

Yeah I i have a small light by my bed that changes colour, and I have the app on my phone to have on at my boyfriends at night, I'm 26! I started suffering anxiety about 2 years ago and I've needed the light since then, like if I have to go to the toilet in the night I panic if it's dark in case I need to get there quickly for some reason, I often feel poorly in the night.

I thought I was the only one.. I'm the exact same way and keep thinking it's irrational and I'm too scared to talk to anyone about it. It's to the point where I have to sleep with a night light and I'm 18..

Yeah I get this sometimes, especially if I'm alone, the feet out of the cover thing I get sometimes but not constantly, and I have small lights on because very dark scares me, like the hallway light kept on at night and I get the spooks at night in other peoples house!!! Like at night you're the only person in the world! If you get this all the time than you need to have things that make you feel safer, lol also ever since I was a kid if I have to go downstairs at night the living room door has to be shut going up and I walk with my back against the wall and have to check there's no body behind me on the stairs before I go back to bed!!! It's weird!

You're just paranoid. Start filling your mind with nice and real things, avoid dark things. A lot of ppl experience this.
